Born and raised on a small island in the Pacific Northwest Kristi Loved to draw and paint as a child. At the age of 21, she moved from her familiar island home in the Northwest to a very different one across the Pacific Ocean. When she found the quiet beach community of Kailua she knew she was home. The vivid colors, warm, contrasting light and tropical shapes and themes were her inspiration take a simpler, but bolder approach with her paintings. Her work reflects her admiration for the art of hula, the children she teaches, and her love for the ocean and paddling.In addition to her fine art she is a published children’s book illustrator and freelance artist. She is also the art teacher at Kaʻōhao Elementary School in Kailua (formerly Lanikai School) where she has shared her passion of art with her students.
