"Any day with sand on your feet is a good day" -KPS

 Born and raised on a small island in the Pacific Northwest Kristi Loved to draw and paint as a child. Her childhood dream was to illustrate childrenʻs books. She was blessed to realize her childhood dream of illustrating childrenʻs books in 2000 with her first book -Sharing Grandmaʻs Gift and has continued that dream ever since.

At the age of 21, she moved from her familiar island home in the Northwest to a very different one across the Pacific Ocean and fell in love with the colors, the ocean and the people. In 2002 she settled in a quiet beach community of Kailua with her husband and three children. Soon after she became the art teacher at her children’s school - Ka’ohao School (formerly Lanikai Elementary) where she worked as the art teacher sharing her passion for art and inspiring countless students for the next 20 years.  

In 2024 she relocated to Tennessee to be close to her children and grandchildren. She is excited for this new chapter of life and is looking forward in continuing to share her passion for art with future generations.

I love sharing my story of perseverance and my passion of art with children.  Through my teaching and my events as an illustrator, I hope to inspire them to always follow their dreams! 

Nothing means more to me than my family.  I am a proud mother of three creative children!   I LOVED being able to take this photo with my youngest as he holds his first published childrenʻs graphic novel!  We found our books for sale side by side at our local market Kalapawai, in Kailua.
